Hi, gang! g:tech back in the swing of things with another pic (finally). Me so lazy!
Anyway, here's a pic of an elf girl. I don't have a name for her yet, so she'll go by Elf Babe for the time being I tried some new things with this pic that I haven't tried before with my style (some gradient work, and some colored linework). I was kinda worried as to how it would turn out, but I think its okay.
Here's the piccy:
As always, feedback and input welcome. Thanks for sitting through the download
[EDIT]: Okay, I reposted the image and fixed the things mentioned below. Thanks for the suggestions! It feels more solid to me. Also, I reposted the image slightly smaller than it was originally so you didn't have to scroll as much to view it. Okay, back to the forum... [/EDIT]

Wow G:tech, first canistr with the cartoon zebra and now your elf 2 minutes later. It is as if Sijun suddenly changed from the normal dark and techno-scifi-fantasy-gothic theme and has turned cartoon.. and we have witnessed the changeover.
About Elf Baberette, it's good to see a well proportioned cartoon humanoid fig. THe magic sparkles are a good touch
One thing really marring about it is the earring... erase the sucka and use some vector graphics from MS Word if you have to... just make it perfect and circular, to match the detailing you've done for the sketch outlines and the shading on the skirt/wrap
This reminded me of the fabulous illustrative style used for Zelda 64. Wow, if you did an illus like that, you could lead us around on a leash and make us eat dirt, bugs and fecal matter, and we wouldn't care |

Very nice. I like how the weight is shifted on that one foot so delicately. Did you do any gesture or life drawings of this pose beforehand, because I think the way that she's posing is pretty accurate in terms of the size of her body and such. I would think thats kinda hard to guestimate on.

I'd put my wittiest remark here, but I'd scare you. |

Sergenth: hehehe, thanks for the comments! I used to be all for that dark, heavy, sc-fi stuff, but then I realized that everyone does it, that it is depressing, hopeless (even though cool, too), and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. A lot of people (not everyone) seem to be scared of showing a softer, more sensitive side, so everything has to be rough, mean, and powerful. I like to do lighter, more magical, comforting things. Makes the days easier to tolerate, and leaves you with a happy feeling.
Oh yeah, good point about the earring. I was going to fix that, then forgot about it as I got distracted with something else in the pic (don't remember what). I'll fix the earring and then repost the pic later on tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for bringing that to my attention
aquamire: Wow! What a nice compliment. Actually, no, I didn't do any life drawing or pose studies. All I did was a thumbnail sketch. The full version ended up turning out nicely. Sometimes we artists don't control our hands... something else guides us to a nice, finished pic. Now, if only I could draw what I had in my head ALL the time. I guess I got lucky on the pose But I'll just pretend I knew what I was doing, ok? *shhhh!*

Nice pic g:tech!
I really like it - esp. the mystical glows.
There are only a couple of things I ight say about it. The toes on the left foot look a tad undefined, more like little bumps of flesh than toes.
And ... um, do you think she needs larger, um, breasts?
Apart from that I love it.
Keep up the great work

I like it G.
I especially like how thrifty you were with colors in this one. It gives it that nice cartoony look. Good work!
