You can't get Q3A from warez. ID has the ability to track cd keys to IP address - therefore you can get caught and possibly prosecuted if you use a stolen or cracked cd key.

Actually, they can't do that, that's an invasion of privacy. Blizzard tried that a few years ago and got tied up in so much litigation you wouldn't believe it.

However, the cd-key for Quake3 uses server-authentication, thus giving id the ability to change the method of key-generation on the drop of the time. This means that any "key-generator" or crack that someone develops will be patched on the server almost immediately.

This was also the case with multiplayer in Half-Life if you remember. I suggest you just buy the game -- it's well worth it. Otherwise, download the pirated version and have fun playing with those funky bots
