That conan rocks!

Do you paint right on the sketch or keep the sketch on a second layer?

It's really nice Veb. As I said before I think there are too many highlights and not enough shadows, and your lighting is quite uniform (not a big difference in values between the right side - where the light is coming from - and the left side). But if that's what you wanted that's ok by me
It seems you use what Burne Hoggarth called the 'sculptural lighting' where the lighting is not emanating from a single point, but where lights and shadows are used freely to define every shape. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Beautiful palette anyway, and really top class work.

Very nice picture but to call that a tutorial is more "fantasy" than the picture itself.

It really just shows the image in a series of steps. A tutorial would talk about the size it was painted at and why, what brushes were
used and why and when, how colors were chosen etc. Tutorials are so much more than 5 work in progress images.

Still, it's a nice picture.

Sumaleth.

Great pic Vebjorn!

and a nice tutorial. I like the start of the tutorial, but info is lacking in the end I think. How about doing a tutorial on more specefic Painter tools that you use and how? I really want to get into that program, but It's just so not-userfriendly I think...and slow when compared to Photoshop.

nice going anyway and thanks for sharing.

,B

Thanks for the comments...I`m gonna add more detail to the tutorial...I just wanted to get it moving;-)

As for brushsizes..there vary alomst for evert 5 strokes, along with pressure, but I`ll try to get down some general hints on that subject.
A..Black_ish...now I understand better what you mean. (oh..conan has always described with a "bronze" tan...maybe thats why..)

just as a note, I prefer (by a lot) the detail in the second to last image than the final one posted. (highlights and detail on the helmet, biceps, etc.)
