Wow. Very nice already! You're pointing out your own mistakes so you know what to do. =) The lighting is nice, very subtle and soft... very nice work!

Oh and i have a question for everyone out there...on my above image, why does the picture look sort of grainy, it looks way better in photoshop...a friend told me browsers switch images to 72DPI ...
dunno how to fix that if it's true...

and another thing, should i be doing all my images at 200 resolution in photoshop 5.0 ?

This is an image i did in about 30 mins,
i used a photograph as a reference, it's not quite the same thing as the photo, but i hope you all like it.

it's Lone Dog

my girlfriends ex dog...it lives with somebody else now...they aren't getting along anymore...just kidding.

i don't notice any grain in your images..
anyway, as far as i know, the DPI settings in photoshop mean nothing unless you are going for print. when working with a screen display in mind (web/photoshop etc) you should only worry about the image size in pixels.
(please correct me if i'm wrong here)

Nice images, btw.

Perhaps the dog has been standing there patiently since before it started to snow? All it needs is a little snow on his back to complete the illusion.

AnthonyJ: The grainyness might be caused by your browser's dithering if your screen is set to 16-bit (hicolor). Putting it to 24-bit or 32-bit should fix this. Jpeg also causes compression artifacts mostly noticeable on contrast edges.

The DPI factor is just a rather abstract concept. Monitors are considered to be 72DPI, and printers 200-600DPI, where DPI stands for Dot Per Inch, where each dot is a pixel. You have more definition on paper, so you need to increase the image resolution to something that the printer can print from 72dpi. Usually you'd want to resize your image to 4 times it's size or so to print it... but that causes blurriness. so.. blah. anyway.

Hey Thanx alot for the explanation Frost!!
Oh, as for the dog...I just plain forgot to
put the prints in the snow...but i like Acid drone's idea..he's just frozen.

lol !

Hope you guys liked it, please post some comments about the image above, with the motorbike guy...i need some sort of idea ...
i dunno if the perspective is good either, perhaps someone can work it over a bit with some background...anything would be appreciated!

oh and Frost!
I guess I should be doing all my work
at a screen setting of 24-bit right!
cause i did the model face image in 16bit screen setting, i switched my monitor to 24
and they still look grainy...i know it's because they were done on 16bit in photoshop etc...

crap, guess i gotta work over some things then...or maybe i'll get lucky and they'll still look clean in photoshop with a 24bit screen setting

too much bla

Hey just posting again
so people will take a look at the bottom image of the model. I'd like some feedback!
It's unfinished, but are there any suggestions for the skin tones, please feel free to go over the image with your own ideas...

thanx!

Dog Piccy - half hour, looks great. I didn't notice that there weren't paw prints. The thing that struck me was the fact that the dog appears to be "walking on snow" rather than actually standing in it. If it was only a thin cover on the ground it might work.

Women Piccy - love the water drop effect. I guess when thinking of a background, I think of were you would be doing this? Two things come to mind, at a river in the bush (ie greenery and trees in the background) or in the bathroom (could have fun with mirrors, towel rails, windows etc).
