Hi everyone. Heres an angel I did during class. I think its coming out pretty good so Im going to finish and color it. Anyways is there anything that needs fixing or do you have any general comments on it?

dont pay attention to the shading, its just there to give me an idea of the form and color scheme when Im drawing in other things.

I do not know if this very constructive but I'll throw it anyway. To me it just looks like a girl with some wings attached to her. I do not know how to express it. It lacks misticism. She is wearing a normal dress, has a normal hair-cut with a normal hair make up (how do you say that in english?). She is just levitating which even I do some hours after eating something in bad state . Also, besides the lack of "angelity" thing, the pose is too static, has no movement at all (not necessarily physical movement, but more of a dynamic feeling of the whole composition , don't know how to say that). Of course that is indeed very very subjective, just my taste I guess.

And on a final note, I do not like images from a complete front a bit if they are not that way for a specific reason. I think it removes sense of volume and expression, it ends up looking too flat (symmetrical might be the word although I am not sure...).

Maybe more destructive than constructive, but if you can make something out of that...

In general, I would agree with Jorge about the 'flatness' of the image. Anything from front on does have a tendency to look a little static and flat (unless there is some dynamic element to it). Maybe if the head was thrown back or something you'd get this effect. My impression is the angel is leviating and in a static position and it is difficult to get a sense of movement other than that.

I didn't actually think the clothes were 'ordinary' and normal but I can see Jorge's point. Otherwise I like the image as the character seems to be in a thoughtful peace. Just my opinion

thanks for your comments. I dont understand what you mean by a flat picture. I guess its different tastes because I like profile views, plus they are a lot harder to draw and I needed practice.

No its not Oh My Goddess, its an original character I made up during class. Goddess hair is really stringy and stylish.
