oh and the second pic does have a filter aplied to it. my teacher wanted us to make a second version using PS filters, just to spice it up or something..

I MUCH prefer the original. Filters are for wusses.

Even though filters give off homonogized looks.. the landscaping outside the window turned out pretty nice, with subtle brush strokes showing

Well for a max class its pretty nice... you could touch it up with some fake caustics on the glass... the texture on the apples shader could be a lil better imo but other then that its cool

it would be cool to see you overlay the filtered version on top of the original, and mixing the two together a bit. because i think the organic stuff like the bread & fruit look better once filtered, but things like the curtains look better without the filter.

thanks for the comments every one

hennifer: thats a really good idea, but one problem with that. i had also abjusted the colour of the pic itself to bring out more of yellow and red tones. i guess i could modify the origonal to do that too. oh well. thanks again

I like the first image the best....I like the bread on the filtered one. I have to agree with Hennifer, that it'll look damn cool if you took certain aspects from each and combined them. This really reminds my of some of those old still paintings.
