Just a dumbass question, cuz I simply don't know the answer. Is "mum" used exclusively for mother over in the European parts of the world, or do you say "mom", too? Just "mom", over here in the US.

Hrr... This would have to be simple... I think we use both versions - "mum" and "mom". But I have to say I'm not sure. Btw, I've seen both ways around. My mother tongue isn't english so if someone who speaks english better would help.

It's good old 'mum' for us. None of this 'mom' jibberish!
