Hi guys (and girls), quick question:

Anyone know where I can find good quality Capcom artwork (done by Capcom artists, not fans), especially from the Street Fighter series? I went to www.capcom.com but it's basically an online store.

I'm having trouble finding the art. It's so stylized and easily recognizable (sp?) that I'd think it would be all over the place. But it's not.

Help a bro out??

Peace

Do you like tekken 3? I often go to the stages [ a game arcade in NZ] and play tekken tag and street fighter.. I know it sounds dumb but yeh. Watching those characters and the way they move expressions etc.. Rather intruiging.. Also Playing Ghost in the shell on Play station..

I know this doesnt really help but yeh..

You're a GOD. Thank you so much. Greatly appreciated.

Jenn:

I used to play Tekken 3. I know what you mean. It's cool watching the characters. I used to analyze the throws/trips, etc, and then go home and try them on my friends. It was a lot of fun. There was this ONE time, however, where I got really motivated watching Lei do his triple air windmill kick thing, and when I went home and tried it in the driveway, I fell right on my ass and skinned my hands up on the concrete! But hey, it was worth it. I have a lot of respect for that stuff now!!

But I love the Capcom background art and character info backgrounds. Not so much with the new throw-away characters, but with the originals like Ken, Ryu, Guile, Chun Li, etc. I used to know everything about them and it was always cool to see new artwork of them in different situations. Really inspiring. Same with the original SNK Fatal Fury/KoF charactes. I can't wait for Capcom vs SNK!

Just getting back into gaming. Been a LOOOONG time.

You might be interested in my personal project.. Its to do with gaming.. Maybe not completly down the tekken / street fighter line yet.. But maybe one day.. If you want to know more please let me know. Same applies for every one else. I am hoping to have a layout up and so on by the end of this week all going well. I am looking for concept and programming.. Sadly unfunded. Tho, where there is a will there is a way.

Jenn:

I used to be involved in the creation of a game for the PC, also unfunded, but there reached a point where we just couldn't go any further without a LOT of money. The project was scrapped when production costs soared past $1 million dollars. It takes a LOT of work and people. But then, that also depends on what type and caliber of game you're thinking about.

I would like to see something about your game-related project. Maybe I can give you some pointers about it or whatnot. You said you'd have a layout up soon? Post it and I'll check it out!

My plan is to have the site up for those interested in helping out, by the end of the week. I am talking to a few friends about helping me out.. Mangaging this and also the creation. I am looking for those who have drive to do this sort of thing. Nothing more. If they arent interested completely I do not want then around. The whole karma thing. I know that even if only a few people help. I will get this done. I would loce to get into game stuff. I am not sure where to go. I am wanting to study study stuff but not sure what. Any hints pointers help whatever I would apreciate.

I think Joachim has every Capcom sketch and character design released on net on his
hard-drive. I could ask him for you. They sure look cool.

street fighter has been my favorite fighting game of all time ever since it first debuted at "fighters street"......now its gone so far ahead and into Marvel Vs. Capcom, im still sticking with them. theyre the only guys who know how to make an all out no-holds-barred crazy ass fightin game.

crap like tekken is just too damn slow, and whats the deal with not bein able to jump?? (or am i thinking of another lame 3d game)
