Hey all,
I was looking for some help on making my drawing skills more proficient. Really, I gotta start from scratch. I want to know of any good books I can buy to help me with my skillz. I know you should draw everyday. But I'm missing basic fundementals that I KNOW i should KNOW. So any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
respectfully,
Mark Wong
P.s. any links to old topics can help too!

Well.. I forgot about your question.
Uhm. I started drawing a few years ago. More so over the last year. I find images that I like the style of and copy. Online tutorials are pretty good. Experimentation is good. Find someone who draws in your area and ask for thier help. If I was there I would help.
I wish you the best of luck in developing this skill. Stick with it donkey

"Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. Along with your choice of anatomy book. I have the Hogarth series and a few others of which I like "Drawing the Head and Figure" by Jack Ham the best (Loomis and Bridgman are reportedly good). I don't recomend Hogath although it comes in handy every now and then. Also get a good book on perspective. not one of those stupid easy to read kiddy ones. a nice chunky one that has all the info outside of drawing boxes and cylinders.
Then you need a good dose of draw every day. A smidgen of life drawing. And a sprinkle of daily forum fun . Mix and let mature.
But most of all, enjoy every minute of it.

The Burne Hogarth series.
Dynamic anatomy
Dynamic wrinkles and drapery (somethin like that)
and a few others.
If you want to get more comic oriented then I would advise you to buy. How to draw Manga :Characters, it's quite good for comic people. (like me) ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

How old are you? It seems that a person is unable to learn how to draw after 16 years of age due tot certain connections between the brain and hand. So ihope its not too late |

*puts teacher face on*
I guess you are referring to the german word "ber-" which means "Over" or in combination with other words (funny that mostly americans use it that way) it means "super-" or somethig simliar...
Like Nietzsche's Theorie of the "bermensch".. the "Superhuman or 'better' Human"
*Bell rings*
Ok kids, german lesson is over.. don't forget to make your homework ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

I personally like Hogarth's "Dynamic Arthritic Old Men's Hands" the best... ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |
