i would make the "jet streams" somewhat opaque and the meteors way bigger, and looking more like a life or death obstacle. i wouldn't add a big light source like the star there, i would either make that a dark planet or nothing, it adds a "clse to home" sort of feeling, takes away the thrill of the vastness.browner/grayer colors, it adds an adventurous feeling, like it's somewhere dangerous or the ship has reeaally been places. make the stars abundant. but white.straight white. on black. straight black space, cuase it is. WAIT! if you'll do the beat up brown/grey thing, i would just have the engines glowing, it makes it look like it's like 50 yrs old. it's good! keep up the good work

Warning: non-painter critique.

Looks very nice. The shape/edge quality is nice, it kinda brings everything out, more seperation between the foreplane and backplane. The stars/backdrop look sweet I particualrly the red misty parts.

my only complaints... maybe the asteroids should be more "menacing". And the star/sun in the upper left looks a bit flat or at least doesn't seem to glow out much.

The "exhaust" behind the ship looks more like a ship coming to a stop or as if they just stopped the thrusters or something along those lines. Could take the look of a "hmm, asteroids. Perhaps we should slow down" image.

overall very nice and very clean.

Thanx for the feedback Anyone else want to say anything?
I agree with the sun being strange... i'm not sure what to do with it.
As for the asteroids, it might make it more interesting to make them menacing, but i actually was just going for a cruise along look

Neat picture but I have a few quarrels.
These are very fine setails that don't need to be fixed, I am just adressing them because I see them. Perspective is a big issue in this pic, like all other space pics. The ellipses are not in perspective. The BG space is great and establishes mood, but you ruin that with that big blob of yellow stuff. If that's supposed to be a sun, you should make it orange or a darker yellow, instead of pastel yellow.

thats... good... looks almost straight out of Homeworld... try and tell me it didn't have anything to do with it... (looks like a Kushan Harvester a bit...)
The trails are a bit to wispy for a ship that should be riding in the wake of a controlled fusion blast... and the sun is all wrong, you'd get some lens flare at that angle wouln't you? just my opinion.
