I like it.
Client doesn't.
Client = Brother.
No money.
Don't care.
Don't expect content, he likes to buy a domain for nothing. Piece of shit!

Cool style mantis.
I like it.
Though maby I didn't look hard enough but I couldn't find a "Home" button when I was on some of the pages.
Good work.

Nice site mantis!
I like the graphical elements you got going on, but the pulldown menus kinda stick out too much, i guess you can't help tho, i'm fighting with the same problem.
I noticed that people don't usually respond to "hey need help with website" threads.
maybe we can get Dhabih to make a new forum for websites?
so what does you brother not like about the site?
I'm currious, i'm noticing alot of people are using the "scanline" effect for alot of stuff on their site, is this some sort of trend or is it just me? Does the scanlines help with image size? AFter all they do reduce the colors..just currious..

First let me say this: I like the site.
However. If a client is not satisfied with your work, thats all that matters. If a client wants an awful page with cheesy animated gifs all over the place or whatever, it's your responsibility to give them what they want.
I realize in this case the client was your brother, so I'm gonna assume you didnt write up a contract, so there really isnt a damn thing you can do. |

This forum s kicking more ass since the return of Dhabih. I finally get replys! Yes!
Yea, the scan line thing isn't a trend anymore, it used to be, but it's just another effect now days.
Thanx for the replys all. Glad to see someone liked the site. My brother had the stupidest quarrels with it. Mainly, he kept asking what the "messy stuff on the site was". I told him it was just the style but he thought that made it look "unproffesional". I really didn't care because . . .as I mentioned before
A. No money
B. He told me to make it as "design oriented as I can". So him contradicting himself really doesn't upset me. he does it often.

Loox good. I especially like the big messed up typograpy as background. The colors were a bit too 'digital' for me, but it's quality nonetheless.

On a right place, the scanlines look extremely cool (in my opinion), but if used carelessly they make the site look pretty cheap since the effect is very widely used. It does reduce colors nicely especially for gifs, but it's not necessarily the main purpose for the effect.
I liked the site Mantis |
