Hey All,

I feel kinda silly posting this with all the incredible digital paintings being thrown around these days, but nevertheless...

Here is a logo I designed, I was just wondering what you guys think of it? Obviously, it's mean to work from a DESIGN sense, and isn't supposed to have a lot of detail. Anyway, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

.. thanks a lot guys!

Hi HumanClay!

It's nice and clear! But if I were you I would give borders for it. I think it's something like "empty" and "restless"... you see... I mean that because colors of the logo are quite light.

But i like it. As I said it's clear.

Hmm.. thanks for the suggestion jp, but I don't think it fits the design. Logos don't generally have borders. You don't see a logo on a letterhead with a border around it. A logo is supposed to 'fit' anywhere, and be used in/for various different purposes of the company's corporate image. A border creates limitations, we don't like that.

Besides, as far as I know, it's only going to be used on a web page, so a border definitely would not work in that sense..

thanks though : /

Nice design there! I think it's best as is...since most logo designs need to be simplistic as possible, since it needs to remain crisp if you client choses to print it on small objects...like pens etc.

I find it hard to crit any sort of design without having the marketing plan, or at least a target demographic.
Definitly no border though.
It looks clean and fresh, easy to read. No real problems.
Of course if "erbin" was a satanic cult, I imagine it wouldn't be pulling in the dollars, if you know what I mean.

Please dont put a border on it. The arrow over it however could be a little thicker and stretch out from 'e' to 'i' instead of 'r' to 'i' imo.

But its really simple and good even the way it is now.

Thanks everyone..

Rinaldo - haha, yea, this logo definitely wouldn't fit the "satanic" theme - It's a "fresh" new design firm that's currently forming with a few big names (me not being one of those big names) .. it's gonna be cool. But yea, I approached it with a "fun, fresh, simple.. " sorta theme.

Again, thanks for your feedback!

canistr, no it's not someone's name. It's the name of the studio .. (erbin, as in.. urban).

And nope, it isn't vector. However I designed it with the specific purpose of being easily converted to vector for Flash/print/etc..

thanks guys

Nice logo idea, it works well. Designing good simple logos is hard (well, at least for me ) so congratulations...

One thing that bothers me though is the font: it's Verdana Bold... Thanks to Microsoft, it's just too recognizable (and I don't think it's a very pretty type design either, but that's just my opinion). Did you try some other sans in its place?

Ok, Tahoma then - it's just a slightly condensed weight of Verdana, so no wonder I didn't notice... (Beats me why Microsoft calls the two fonts by different names when they're obviously of the same family, maybe they just want to make it seem like the default Windows installation has more fonts than it actually does )
