Not bad Grendal. Good job on the painting, however you probably should have spent alittle more time on the original under drawing. If you look at your pic you could cut her head in half and both pieces will be at different angles. The face itself is a little long for Laetitia. I leave the rest for everyone else to critique. Don't get me wrong it is an excellent start.

not a bad image... one suggestion i could give would be to seperate the image into cross sections,. that way you can get the proportions more exact..

i like the use of color and shade

Hmm, you label it a painting, but I get the feeling it's an illustration. Very graphic look to me. Very little shading-I like the look fine, but if you wanted to go for a painterly look, add in the tanned skin, the sweat, the highlights-stuff like that. Looks great though, she's always very popular eh?

The only problem I can see is that her left eye looking at the picture is higher than it is in the photograph. If you look at the photo you can see that her right eye is slightly higher than the left whereas you have done the opposite.
Other than that small problem good job.

Nice detailing. a bit plastic but that's ok.
Two tips, 1: flip the pic, 2: put the original on a seperate layer and town down the opacity or set the blending mode to difference or exclusion. I was going to post an example that would point out a few problems. but there are a lot of differences in the two pics and it was hard to see clearly from one position what was wrong. Do it yourself and you'll see what I mean.

proportions aside I think it looks pretty good.

Thanks, guys!

These comments are really helpfull, it's hard to tell your own errors when you've spent too many time on a piece!

I didn't notice the eyes weren't aligned properly, I crossed her face at the beggining but I think I screwed when I went into detail .

Rinaldo: I'm going to try that.

Anthony: painting, illustration ... I'm short on words so I write the first one that goes on my mind (me thinks should go back to english school) .

Chapel: it's Grendel with an 'e' :P.
