Yay! Another quickie portrait!
This one again, took me just over an hour... I am getting the hang of Photoshop's tools better and better, and my artists block is finally going away, where I'm able to draw anything I put my mind to...tee hee It feels good. So here ya go...A quickie portrait of Angela http://www.greatersin.net :

Visigoth, your style in this pic and the last two posted is incredibly beautiful. Do you have more examples of this sort of thing? It reminds me of ink drawings, but no mess and no mistakes..

Do you have any influences/references for this style? Have you read Scott McCloud's "Understanding Comics"?

I'm stunned. Ten thumbs up.

nice one.
But, if you are now able to draw whatever you put your mind to, why not do something like a huge city with lights from every where and plenty of details action, people and enviromental effects and wrap it all in with a storyline within the picture. or, did you just choose to do something much simpler just out of taste.

I hope that was not what you ment

Man I used to be _obsessed_ with detail. Detail used to be my only thing...My people had blatant anatomical mistakes...But then again you could pick out every individual fiber of their boot laces and every hair on their scalp. Okay, not really...But you get the idea. Like that dragon pic that I posted around a week ago (http://home.earthlink.net/~gothan/dragon.jpg) -- It has blatant anatomical errors, but I managed to have the patience to put 19,500 scales (that I counted while drawing) into it. So you see where my problems have lay, in alot of my past art. I get obsessed with detail, and the form and composition suffer. I've been trying to work on my form and composition better with these past pics...And it's slowly getting better. I'm experimenting with abrupt changes in tone (where her pigtail meets her left shoulder) and more with minimalistic stuff. So far, it's coming along pretty damn well...hehe Once I've got my confidence to where I feel I can start adding detail again, I'll take up something more complex. Thanks for the comments guys!

Most cars are actually steel, with some being aluminum. Rarely are cars fiberglass.

You counted wrong on the scale Visigoth. Sorry. I had a few hours of spare time today.

Awesome pic tho.

CapnPyro, where have you been the last decade?? Cars are made of all those materials, including, but not explicitly, plexiglass, and jello!

A car's body is generally made of fiberglass. The bodies of cars haven't been made of steel regularly since the 1960's. =P
The chassis and other critical parts are usually steel or aluminum.

Yeah. I sampled that red from your hair in the photo, btw...Picked a tone just below the mid-tone of the hair...It turned out pretty good...But it looks much better in Photoshop where the tones aren't screwed up.
