survivor was the corniest show i've ever seen. they make everything in the show seem like this big "holy" ordeal, like when the flames get extinguished. that music is so lame.

ive only seen like 4 episodes of it when i had nothing better to do, tonight i wanted to see who got the million. and that sue girl has the most annoying voice ive ever heard. all i can say is: sore loser.

the naked guy was a fag i read about him in the papers...beating up his son and crap..

With MST3K and UCB gone, TV is now complete shit.

I guess the Simpsons is still funny . . . and Malcom in the Middle isn't bad for a sitcom . . . but man, the rest of it is just pap drivel.

I do agree that TV has turned in to a vast wasteland, though I still think the History and Discovery channel have a lot of cool stuff. I've met Steve (Crocodile Hunter) before and he's actually pretty cool.

UCB should've been cancelled before it ever premiered IMNSHO, what huge pile of dung that turned out to be. Gimme KITH, Vacant Lot or Exit 57 anyday. All 3 managed to push the envelope and still be funny (well, most of the time)

I did actually watch the last Survivor episode. Seemed ok but nothing that warrants all the attention it got. It certainly not the worst thing I've ever seen.

Time to go bust out the old Jack Benny tapes, that show is still funny 50 odd years later.

survivour isnt that bad. i think it looks scripted because its all edited after they film it. got to admit, its a hell of a lot better then "who wants to be a millionar" and all that crap. i found survivour entertaining. cant say that for much else thats on tv right now. except for the usual simpsons and futurama and all that

This thread should most definitely NOT have been put in the digital art forum! I'd been going out of my way not to read anything about the show because I didn't want to read any spoilers and I started reading this posting without realizing what it was. Thankfully I thought I'd glimpsed that Rudy had won so there was still some surprise for me.

For those wondering wtf 'Survivor' is, it's what happens when America latches onto the current 'reality TV' fad and throws some money at it.

It was basically a competition to win $1million - 16 people "stranded" on an island (in malasia somewhere I think) competing against each other to be the last one on the island (last one gets the cash). Every three days someone was voted off the island so there was a lot of strategy in trying to stay on the island (although most of them didn't realize this until it was too late).

I don't usually get into reality tv shows but I have to say this one had me totally captivated. It was impecibly well produced and it was always interesting to see what competitions the participants had to get through.

Rudy was the most entertaining. Imagine a 70+ year old ex-Navy Seal who was about as blunt as anyone could be. I'd love to see a big list of his quotes. My fave was probably;

"Only 10 days to go. I'll probably never see any of these people again.. and thats how I want it."

He said that straight to the camera with everyone else around him. I could NOT stop laughing.

Richard - the overweight, mega-confident, gay financial adviser with a habit of walking around naked - was really entertaining too and probably a deserved winner. The competition was mostly about being smart and and no one else really latched onto that aspect as well as Rich.

Actually, I really can't work out Kelly. I really thought she was doing her best to be "nice" and it was only through sheer luck that she got through to the end, but in retrospect everything she did could have been total strategy (which the others seemed to think was the case). I don't know.

I had the appearance of being staged at some points but ultimately I seriously doubt that was the case. I think the editing job they did on it was very well done

If you could get into the 'tribe culture' aspect of it then it was seriously entertaining and very interesting. It'll be hard to forget I think.
