Greetings everyone!
I thought that I'd jump in here and say hello and introduce myself. My name is Brett (duh!) and I've been doing art for a while now, primarily sculpture. Although just recently have started doing digital stuff. I've got a site set up (like the rest of the known world) with some of my stuff and would love to get some feedback. The images shown range from early commercial work to present illustrations (in no particular order but kinda obvious). They're not on par with quite a bit of the fantastic work I've seen here but you all have inspired me to really put it to the grindstone. Actually after discovering this forum yesterday I went home and started a new piece which I'll post for you to critique. Anyway, if you'd like to see some of my stuff please go to http://www.geocities.com/tadlockart/main.html
and check it out. Oh, the only link on the page that actually works is the "Next" button on the bottom of each page. I look forward to hearing any comments and hope that I can add something to the future topics. Best to all.

Why all that copyright stuff. Seems a waste of time to me. the images are unprintable at that resolution and compresion (pixelation ahoy). They are already protected. people can't just steal them. hide your sig in there or something. just looks like shit. I mean the thumbnails looked realy nice. but the images are pixelated and totaly covered with type.
How many pro artist do you see here who show huge pics that actuialy could be printed (badly but printed). as for people taking them digitaly......welcome to the nightmare that is the internet. The only people who are likely to claim ownership are little grommits who don't matter anyway.
The only claim you can really make (and the only one that realy matters) is loss of revenue. and I can't see it happening from you putting up good quality pics.
Some of the stuff on your site looks pretty good but I simply can't comment on it. There is a lot of pixelation in your non type infested pieces as well.
*Sigh* sorry for being such a dick but I just don't see the logic.

Rinaldo: The copyrights were put there from when I first started putting images on the net and was worried that they would be "appropriated" by others. I had seen other artists do it, figured that was how it was done and never went back to change it. As for the pixalization, I wasn't aware that there was a problem until recently. I thought about fixing it but realized that would take more effort than I want to use. So currently I'm working on some new pieces that are higher res. w/o the imbedded copyright to put up on the site. Oh, if you're interested in some of the other stuff on my site you can enter from the main part at: www.geocities.com/tadlockart
Thanks for the thoughts.....oh, and I don't think you're a dick.
