I painted this pic in roughly an hour and a half, as you can most obviously tell by the unfinished look to it.. not to mention it was painted in the rez as you see it, so I couldnt get a whole helluva lot of detail in there without struggling.
If you squint reeeaal hard, it looks kinda photorealistic, or at least I hope so. I was mostly just playing with brushes in Photoshop, and I used an img for reference.

I'm not crazy about your brush work, but the colors and composition are nice. You've got skylight in the shadows, which is something a lot of people don't know to do.
If it were my painting, I'd probably re-work the vegitation with a simpler brush. The stippled look is bordering on Bob Ross-ish, and it also seems that the shadows on the bush are aware of the right side of the arch.
Any chance we could get a look at the reference?

Thanks for the crit, it is most valuable to me, as I have just recently gotten serious about photoshop and painting. I've played with it a lot over the years, but now is when I've finally decided I want to start doin this stuff, so forgive my brush work. I've spent most of my life just drawing on paper, so I have to get a little use to painting.
Here is the reference photo, as you requested Balistic.
I did screw up on the shadows on the lower left and right corner. In the right is suppose to be some object I have yet to identify. This is the disadvantage of painting from photos, especially since my knowledge of light and shadow could use some severe updating.
