Here's the finished version of that insect vehicle (line drawing's in my other post). Highlights on the head section bugs me....o well. I'm really getting into all this tech drawing stuff again. I should have another batch of these by next week....
Someone asked about markers? I usually stick to the odd numbers: #1,3,5, and 7. This also saves money...you don't really need the whole set (talking only about grays). But for these, i just went up to 5...i didn't want'em to look over rendered...

awesome, do you plan to animate the ship in some way? I like the way you can express the 3dness of the ship by only using lines, shows you put a lot of thought into the design instead of just going with the flow, then again, who am i to be saying all this?!
nice job |

Vortx,
I don't remember if I've commented on your stuff before but I will now. Your concepts are looking really good (the other ones too) and your rendering is simple but gets the message across. Maybe some hotter hi-lights with gouache can help bring it to life alittle further along with some darker darks in the deeper recesses. Have you tried adding color to any of these tone paper drawings (like say in gouache or something)? If sso please post.
Late,

Very cool! You know, I didn't realize at first that this was a single person type ship (it is, right?) - now I see, and I like the design. You should go work for a game company or something!

I don't think Vortx could find a job in a game company. Maybe in a few years, if he could improve. But could he? ;P |
