After a few frustrating failures I managed to cover the dragon with a layer of scales that didn't look ridiculous. Added teeth and scrathes for a more natural and non-turtleish look. I think some of the shadows are off, though.
Oh yeah, there's a knight too, but that's just Timo's idea stolen & not changed :). Let me hear about anything you dislike/like/want changed.

The only gipe i have is the dragons's eyes could use more depth and detail, unless you really want to go for that cold and expressionless reptile thing
good pic otherwise! |

It's very stylish.
The simplistic eyes do look a bit out of place tho. |

Cool pic!
you could make these rifts in the ground filled with lava.
I think the lighting that would come from the lava would look really cool too. |

Very cool. Very unique style. Shapes and values are strong! Only thing that might help is to soften a few edges where the form turns from light to shadow. It will show form better and the soft edges will give vriety to the sharper edges you have going.
Blow up your eye and render the socket structure a bit more. They look like flat painted graphics.
You might want to play up your atmospheric perspective some. |

very cool, i like the lit up mouth surrounded by the washed out colors. the knight is cool, the shadows kinda funky. hes either wetting himself or getting ready to run

Hey
I didn't reply before since I didn't have a chance to work on the pic until now.
Let's see. First, I repainted the eyes, put some shading and highlight to them. Softened the shading in some places such as the horns and the nose. Repainted the knights shadow as well, defined the ground just a bit. No lava this time, sorry Nex :).
Thanks for the comments, and pointing out the eyes, everybody. They should be mucho better now.
"You might want to play up your atmospheric perspective some." I might want to do what? (English is my 2nd language). Help, anyone?
