This is a 20 min sketch where I tried expanding a bit on the lame "white sith" paintings. I was trying to cut in shapes, use the size option and otherwise avoid having very obvious default brush marks. Thanks to spooge for some advice and pointers. Still got much to learn.

Cool Francis! The planet, I must say, sucks (so far), but the ship is awesome. I really like the cores of dark you've left along the edges of the wings between the highlight and the bounce light. Gives it a really solid feel. |

It's looking good francis. I won't say that It looks beter becase I kinda liked the other style in itself. but it is definitly getting better so far as looking less like it was painted with round brushes. |

Looks very cool francis. Nice tech. design. Agree with WacoM about the planet, but I guess that was not what you focused on
But, could be cool if you did a rough version of the earth instead, more blue and with the sun behind, so that the planet get a blu glow, could look cool behing the spaceship. And, easier to get away with when it's very rough
But, the spaceship is really cool !!!

Yeah Francis. I think you are starting to see painting for what it is. Watch the edge work though. Some of the edges dont hold together as tech, as they still meander a bit, such as a lot of the reflective blue planes on the right side of the ship. The attention taken to the details is nice. Convincing and not really there. A huge step from the hanger bay details you were doing. Do you feel like you are seeing things clearer, or differently in terms of painting what you see, and not painting everything that is in the image?
Great sketch, and yes, I agree with Wacomole, the planet sucks donkey balls... ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

Damn, everyone hates that planet! OK, the next one will be a little bit more thought out and developed, but thanks for all the comments.
