I just got an art tablet, and I gotta say, I lack all technique... "techniqe, we 'do' need some stinkin' technique" Or rather I do. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has a tutorial from the very first steps all the way from image size/ resolution of pic, going through how they get the outline and everything, to the coloring, shading, and finalization. I have tried a few things. Putting down black lines then trying to go over with color on another layer and same layer. I have tried just putting down color for shapes... nothing seems to get the desired outcome, although I usually give up cause it looks rather childish in skill. How do you all get the precision? For example the black lines on Francis' pic of the ship, how do you get such crisp lines? Mine either look all crooked for they look pixelated for lack of a better word. Do you do pen and ink on a hard copy, scan it, then do your stuff or what? I think of myself as a rather decent pencil/paper artist. I'm not great, but if I draw something people know what it is. If there is just a learning curve for tablets and you only learn from exp I don't mind... I just want to know if it is easy right off square one with everyone else besides me or what? Any tips are welcome. Thanks. |
