your problem is it looks like a golden statue, not a girls face. the face anatomy looks a little funky to me, but i'll leave that for fred's opinion |

If you allow me (I'm not a god but I'm trying my best to help ). I think first your girl looks a little too 'mannish', for some simple reasons: strong nose, very square jaws and rather small lips. Maybe that's the effect you want. If not, try to make everything rounder and softer.
I think you're using too much airbrush which gives a soft and 'polished brass' feeling to your image. Try to use bolder brush strokes, that will make the image looks stronger and more defined. Also to get rid of the 'golden statue' effect, use more red in your skin tones, and mainly less contrast in values (just try to change that in PSP in the menus - first the hue, then the contrast).
The best thing you could do is to find a photo of a girl with the same angle and try to compare it with your image. Don't copy it, just have a look at it and you'll see what you can improve.
I'm certainly not the best to give you any advice but at least I'm the first to do it

i think its very nice. perhaps u want the gold-statue type look. the lips need a bit of tweaking tho, i think because the peaks seem quite close for a person who is smiling. also, the neck gives me the feeling of a pedestal... try not to make the base so much wider than the top. actually u can just stare at ur neck in the mirror for awhile to get an idea of what its like.
anyway, great pic! hope u post the finished version!
(i'm definitely not the god of the board but i hope this will help) |

daz199-Hi. I apologize for the rework if it is nowhere close to your image. This was done in about 30 minutes. Basically a total redraw. You need to post a photo with the art if you want more help than deciding that the colors are off or whatever...
If you want a real analysis on the face, postr the photo. As for the art, learn how to make flesh tones. Using the colors you are using are going to make a fleshy face look bronzed or dirty.
I assume this is an asian girl? The eyes look it. One thing I would try to avoid is doing the clone thing with the eyes. Eyes are similar, but not exactly alike. Shape etc. No two eyes are exactly perfect. Try learning to draw them together, instead of one now and one later, like most people start off doing. It is really tough to try and line them up at first, but there are ways to help. Especially when looking straight at the person, make sure you have exactly one eye width distance between the two eyes. Some asian types will have a bit more, but then again, I am guessing at the ethnicity...
Another thing, if you drop a line from the tear ducts down the face, that line will run right to the outside of the nose. Drop a straight line down from the iris of the eye, and you have found where the corner of the lips go. THere are many more little tricks like this that help you figure out placement of the features.
Try also to put in some eye brows of some sort. This will start to define, or help to define whether it is male or female...
Watch the boxiness of the jaw. Square jaws are more often associated with male faces.
Watch that you don't paint on the lips. I.E. they look cut out. All the way around them you have chosen to use the same edge. Unless this chica has on some really dark lipstick, and made a sharp edge with the lipstick, you want to try and blend some of the edges into the muzzle region of the face, and the cheek planes.
This is all I can write for now, I hope the image helps a bit. One last thing, don't use such a high contrast background also, unless you dull down the face. With a pretty girl, you don't want dull colors. Make them vibrant, so she glows, not literally, not like she is now...
Post that photo and I can help you with more specific things regarding her look, and matching it up with the photo...
Good luck...
