this here is just a small mountain study..

I think I will do some more landscape drawings in the next weeks, its kinda fun.

Its quite obvious that the value range could be bigger ..
if you have some critique (other than that it is a rather boring picture ) lemme hear..

That's pretty cool, Nex!

Painting rocks is pretty difficult, isn't it? At least one of my favourite things to struggle with!

The foreground rocks look like they don't really belong to the rest of the image - maybe you should try to define their basic three dimensional form first, before you put in the detail. Try to shade them after the lightsituation that's in the image.

Otherwise - I really like the mood!

That is georguous Nex! You've brought back some wonderful memories of Switzerland, especially the Matterhorn.

Wonderfully cool & crisp.

One thing, the foreground looks a bit flat. I think perhaps the perspective on the nearest rocks is set too diagonally... if that makes sense?

nice work, Nex!! i like the colors really much, it all blends to make a somewhat cold winter day, to me atleast.

if you have trouble with rocks, i think Bryce programs are pretty cool with that type of thing and then you could just kinda use a couple renderings as reference. i dunno, then again you could make a whole landscape...

Anyways, great work and i hope to see more of where ya came from!!

thanks all for the comments!

Loki, ceenda: You are right the foreground looks very flat. I somehow just rushed it and it looks like that. The other part was painted with putting down the basic shapes first like loki suggested. The foreground was just scribbled there.. i think I will overwork it.

Silico: thanks! maybe I will give bryce a try for reference.. Where are the times when vistapro was a cool program .

If you guys have reference pics from rock structures I'd be happy to have an eye on them.
