I did this really quick with no reference just for fun, it's kind of a cartoony style.

See what you think.

Shane, that is really nice.

I like the way you have the light filtering in.

One thing though, could you check out the vine on the tree at the right near the light source. You can see the vine that is behind the tree.

That really is very nice. Great Mood. Love the volumetric light.

Damn Shane, I was taking a look at your website. That's really nice stuff you've done huh?

Are you still working at Epic? and what are you working on at the moment?

Woooo... refreshing! How long did this take you do complete Shane? And, what resolution did you work in?

... I'm assuming you did it with Painter?

God damnit, I need to practice.

Nice image. Waiting for Tarzan to swing into shot.
Your web site is full of nice images. I really like the Bougueraeu study of the Angels in acrylics. Tough to get his figurative work to work well in acrylics.

Welcome aboard...

The first thing I like about your work is the softness of it. It reminds me of an old sega megadrive game: Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse. The second thing I like are the rays of sunlight and shadows which draw your eyes to certain parts of the image.

Speve-o-: Yes I still work at Epic, right now we are finishing up the PlayStation2 version of Unreal Tournament, and also working on our next game(which I can't talk about).

HumanClay: well it wasn't really that fast, I guess it took about 30minutes to an hour. It was gust kind of cool not to have to worry about detailing everything, this pic is more about the mood and initial feeling you get when you first look at it. I did it at about 3000 res vertical, in Painter6.

Fred: Thanks! Actually Tarzan was kind of the inspiration for this pic, I wanted to see what it would be like to try and do that type of style, I never have. I'm glad you like the Bougueraeu study of the Angels, that was the first actual acrylic pic I had ever done. Acrylic it a tricky medium, I kinda of just winged it, I really had no knowledge of how to use them. I have an Airbrush background, acrylic's are waaay different.

Silico: The reason I don't post more often is because I'm doing confidential stuff that I can't post, I'll try to do more "me" stuff that I can though.

Thanks to all you other guys for the kind words! This is a cool forum, I come here every day!
