Here's a sketch i did yesterday.
The characters are from the Old comic called
Lone wolf and cub(originally Kozure Okami)
I was pretty happy with Ogami, but his right arm suck. The kid is also pretty bad. I'm thinking of doing a completely new one and
correct the errors. well, here it is:

*Sigh*
The samurai guy is very good.
Besides the arm that is, (where the hell is the thumb)
You pretty much stole any thunder I had so far as crits go.
How long does this sort of thing take you?

Micke-grrrr the forum keeps saying I don't exist. Pissing me off...sorry...
Micke-again, an amazing peice of work. I love the horizontal line work for your tones. It adds motion, and it has a real dynamic feel. The hand does bug a bit, but that can be fixed.
I would love to see some pages done in this look. Ever thought of doing a graphic novel? I'd buy it in a heart beat. This stuff kills 90% of what is published in the graphic market today...great job...

I've only got one issue of that book, but it is indeed quite cool.
I like your treatment of the faces, though as you said, the arm needs work.

Excellent stuff, Micke. I only knew Lone Wolf and Cub from the movie series. Now I'm going to have to try and hunt down the comic. |

Dark Horse will be releasing the book, 296 pages at a time, starting the end of this month. It should run monthly for the next 2 odd years. It was one hellaciously good series.
Micke - the pic looks great, very reminiscent of the orignal series. |

Nice work Micke. I like the pose of Lone Wolf and the way that Cub is hanging onto his back. The loose shading is real good.
Another nice piece. |

Excellent! I love the subject matter and I really like the execution.
Fred, why is it that it seems like most comics today are drawn by lazy epileptic colorblind chimps?

Sadly I've never read the book. But I figured He just cut off his thumb. being that samurai's tend to do that from time to time when resheathing their Blades. |

I remember when they started to publish this
comic in Sweden in the late 80:s and i found
out that my father had the original (296 pages)books from Japan. I was pretty stunned when i noticed that it was first published
in the mid 60:s. It is very good drawn if you compared it to other comics published at that time. Beatifully drawn in ink and the story almost cinematic told. He he, the arm is gonna be corrected when i re-draw it.
Rinaldo: It took about 15-20 minutes to do.
Why it took long time was that i did'nt remember to well how the clothing looked.
Fred:Thanks for your words, but i don't think
i'm ready to do a thing as a graphic novel yet. I feel my skills still is too limited.
But i'm gonna get more in shape. On monday i'm gonna pick up figure drawing again. If
i still was doing it maybe the arm would'nt suffer, hehe.
Gimbal: The movie is pretty cool, but the soundtrack sucks pretty bad. A samurai epic
with cheesy Syntheziser riffs, drags down the whole movie.
Francis: Thanks a lot. I don't now too much about the comic market today. Rarely buing anything at all except Moebius, Gimenez,
Alex Ross. By the way...What the hell happened to Brian Bolland?! My big hero.
I'll post a corrected version of the drawing
pretty soon. Hopefully after sunday. I think i have about 8 undfinished things hanging on my shoulder.

Cool micke, Ogammi itto kicks arse!
I wasn't that much a fan of the comic adaptation, but the original movies (6 part series) is the fkkin best man! specially the first two.. (I own every one of them I proud to say =) If you haven't seen them they are definetely worth hunting down.
Stay away from the american bastardised version 'Shogun Assassin' tho, its just the first two of the series with all the plot cut out of it! =O
