Great pic Loki.

The cave walls almost look like water colour. how did you do them?

How much are you compressing your jpeg's. Ther are a lot of artifacts. I have noticed this in a lot of the images you post. they are so detailed and you have so many sharp edges, that the artifacts really effect the image. If you posted it bigger it might help or use a higher compression level.
Seeing as your work is so detailed I don't understand why you post such small images. I mean It's crap to have to look at a really wide image because it stretches the words. But If you had a link to a bigger image We would be able to better apreciate your wonderful level of detail.
The artifacts from the jpeg aren't all that bad but they make the hard lines look funny if you know what I mean.
(just a suggestion you probably have good reason for doing as you do)

The background outside the cave and the entrance are particularly convincing.

Hi Loki!
It looks great and i also thought it looked like it was painted with watercolour.
How did you do that by the way?The only thing that looks a bit weird to me i think is the machinery on the vehicles legs.I think it looks a bit clumpsy and have a hard time imagine it walk.
Othervise from that i love it.The top part (body)of it looks great.

The mecha reminds me of a zoid. Like the image but I have to agree that it does look a little flat in some places.
Nice job.

Thanks guys!

Rinaldo:
small image - quicker download
compression - quicker download

and: there are no details in that one

flat: hmmm ... dunno what you gjys really mean - but I'm blind to that image, since I just painted it, maybe I'll see it after a few days

micke: yeah, the rabbit mech is a little bit clusmy and not very fast - they usually use it as a decay
the design of this mech is bullshit and entirely non-functional - I wouldn't want to have to animate it ...

watercolors: yeah, looks like it - I worked quite rough and transparent at the entrance

mullinish: Spooge is my biggest inspiration and I've improved a lot by looking at his images. I just love the way he works - his composition, the way he treats light and shapes. So I'm like a little kid, trying to mimick what the adults do

Its not flat. The thing is that I think you gotta change the postion of the character and the mecha.

They r perpendicula to each other an opposed to the bkgrd.

The man is standing with almost a full back position. the mech is almost fully parallel to the viewer.

the background has full perspective

this makes for an odd postioning

you probably felt this already, and just needed reinforcement of others opinions

great work. saw your paintings and lovem all.

I kinda agree with "K". Maybe by turning the Mech at a 3/4 away from the viewer, you could make it look less flat. It might be kinda nice to play up the warmwer light coming from inside the cave for a warm cool contrast thing.

Late,
