I love your colors and textures. I say f*** the subject matter and continue to abstract it. Flatten it out into planes and shapes of texture and color. Study the painter Richard Diebenkorn to see what he has done in that vein over the years.

Sorry for the REALLY boring subject matter (painting of a bed..yaye!)....
but I had to get this up.. it started as a portrait, but I say the heck with it and ventured off into something else...
And I just know it's riddled with bugs (lighting and value.. argh.. lack of education is really starting to hurt.)
Since it's no longer a portrait, no reference was used for this picture.. feedback please?
And next piece i'll try to loosen up.. honest!

i tweaked it a little more, i've tried to create some kind of intimate space with the lighting...i don't know what else to do to this, guess i'm feeling really burnt out, just my trials in learning how to paint... thanks for the kind replies. /=]
Pigeon, i checked out Diebenkorn, interesting stuff! - very figurative

Nothing wrong in portraying a bed.
More interesting than all those to good looking modelphoto chicks I think.
