intelligent? cuter? dorky?
Just curious on what people think. I had to go in to get my eyes examined and it ends up that I will need glasses. I'm just slightly near sighted in one eye, so the glasses are to keep my eyes from getting tired when reading or working on a PC. Kinda weird for me because my older brother has had glasses all his life and now I'm just now wearing them at age 25. |

Depends on the style. I don't have any pictures of mine, but I think they make you look more intelligent. Especially in a nice suit...ppl just look at you differently Like your the CEO of a company..well maybe not..but they don't make you look dorky, unless you get like Revenge of the Nerds glasses or something like that..but they don't sell them other then ebay.com lol
I goto lenscrafters...they are the best service out there and very fast and free checkups for the life of the glasses. |

I've got a pair already on the way. I don't think they are "birth control frames". If you know what I mean. |

You be the judge...
7th grade chick magnet here, folks. Let me tell you; hornrims, polyester shirt, violin in tow; I was beatin' the ladies off with a stick...
Seriously though, I see (insert pun here) absolutely nothing wrong with spectacles. I've always been attracted to women with eyeglasses and even though I wore contacts for years, I met and married my wife wearing glasses the entire time. To me, it adds that extra air of intelligence and with the wide variety of choices available these days, they can be quite the fashion statement if you choose. Then again I may be partial to them, my eyesight went south when I was four...
Funny 'bout genetics, I'm 6'3" and blind and my brother is 5' 8" and still has perfect vision to this day. Oh well...
Cheers!
p.s. Thanks Joe for helping me out with my figure drawing thread last night. Hopefully my colon is positioned correctly this time... |

get yourself some sexy frames then, and turn them into your own personal aphrodisiac. |

Glasses make you look more correctly.
<insert non-laughter here>
Want my advice on glasses? Get lenses as thick as possible. Make sure your eyes are several times larger than they should be, even with regular thick lenses.
Make sure they can concentrate even the slightest proton into a laser beam of death! Let your friends try them on and laugh in amusement as their eyes actually go bad by themselves! Look at any standard map and see actual people waving! Get great neck exercise as it tries to support an extra 34.527 pounds of glass!
Yep.
(Note: If I offended anyone with thick lenses, don't worry. I wasn't talking about you.)

You want an answer to that queestion, Chapel?
See this: http://pub1.ezboard.com/ftopazdesignsmisc.showMessage?topicID=4219.topic
Now, the way I see it , here's a way to do little empirical test on that. We'd need pictures of as many people as possible (for scientific validity), one with glasses, and one without. If possible, the only difference would be the presence or absence of glasses - same pose, same lighting etc. So, a participant would post one pic on site #1, and the other on site #2, and it should probably be organized so not all people post the 'with glasses'-pics on site #1 and the pics without on #2, just to minimize the effect of any weird demographic differences in the visitors of the two (three? Dukez did suggest a third one...) sites.
(Yes, most of that is copypasted from my post at TD. Sue me.)

i once saw this guy at the swing dance i go to every week with these big black thick-framed glasses.. he had longish, spiky hair and kind of a pointed, pale face. he looked like some kind of anime character. i think i might just take what i remember of him and paint something. anyway..
i always thought narrow, rectangular glasses looked great on guys with narrow-ish faces, or round, small ones on guys with not narrow-ish faces. metal frames are always cool, too.
hm. my vision's pretty bad, but i look terrible with glasses. so i got contacts (colored) instead
