Spooge! Do you mind telling me abit more about what you did when you drew this? This pic is so detailed and realistic! Do you have a larger version of it?
And please tell me about what the work is like when you were one of the El Dorado concept artists (if I am not mistaken, I saw those concept arts in your site...).

Ouch. How does that make you feel to work on a number of paintings that will only be kept in a file somewhere? I mean, I'm assuming that because you were contracted to create that work, they won't give you the rights to use or show them?

The cube was built in 3-d and the smoke was a 3-d trick too. The rest is pretty straight forward. Here is the 3-d rendering of the cube.
I have a larger version of it, but I think the client would flip if I were to release it. Sorry.

I worked at home on El Dorado. They contracted for 10 paintings and by the time I got to the 3rd, they said they were going in a different direction. This is the inevitable point were all exploration stops and they decide to do it like Disney. A sound business decision. So they said please finish your contract but don't bother us with what you do, just quietly put them in the flat file over there. I worked from sketches they provided, which varied widely in quality.

Aaaah~ now I see! But those pics you drew still kick ass! :\ I think El Dorado would gain much more comments and popularity from a new style and catooning technique orginality. Too bad~ but good thing they still paid you. |
