I would like to ask a question but can't find a way to post an image with my msg...could anybody tell me how to do it so I can ask my question (I need the image to show up so my question makes sense...obviously but I am not sure I got the UBB idea right).
Thanx a lot, in advance.

All right, this is the pic. I need help smudging refining Mr Bones. I will fix some areas as the jaw, shield, etc but I wanted to post the pic to get a piece of advice ASAP.
What I want to know, in a detailed form, as much as possible is:
1) Strength of smudge.
2) Direction (I use a Wacom Intuos 18x12) I should smudge outer edges, same for inner edges.
3) Should I create a brush to define areas?
4) Would someone with experience share his/her knowledge on how to handle colors and merge/blend them like Dhabih does? I use what Photoshop5 has to offer. I dodge/burn/airbrush/paintbrush to do most of the work but I still can't get the grip on how Dhabih manages to display his tricks so easily (it seems he doesn't sweat, at least.
5)Anything you want to say about how to improve would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance...sorry to bother THAT much the PROs...but some of us have no other ways but being annoying to learn!

I'd say hold off on the smudging for now. I think the shading could use some work. He's textured, but not really shaded. I'd put in some more definitive shading so you can find a light source. Give it some depth. Then work on smudging. Just my $0.02.
Cool pic so far, though. |
