Your not alone man.
My wednesday just started so I hope it goes ok.
Hang in there. Working harder always makes me feel a little better. Its a good place to put all that negative energy.

I'm not as much down as just weirded out,
found out a girl I've been thinking about starting to date, (from my class in college) who I thought was around my age, or at least a year younger, is actually .. turning 14 soon! I'm 19 for reference, and now I have no Idea what to do, I mean romantic feelings are out of the question, but I mean ... weird... http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000624.html |

I'm on top of the world! Woohoo!
Well, not really, but I feel pretty damn fine at the moment.
shahar2k: I can relate. There's a girl about 3 or 4 years younger than me and even though I don't want to be attracted I bloody can't help it. She looks my age though. Dammit!
So what are you going to do? I don't think romantic feelings are *totally* out of the question. Umm, actually, I don't know what I'm talking about. But if you really like her, what can you do?
You can still be a great friend, maybe date, but nothing too intimate....
Ever seen the movie Beautiful Girls?

why can't you just be friendly with 'er and wait until you think you are both intellectualy mature enough to take your relationship to the next level... (what I mean is wait till she's older) or just move on. Thats all I can think of really...

see, now here's the biggie deal, I was CERTAIN we were both the same age because she looks AND acts like it, thing is, at 13 people's thought process (from personal experience) is a little diffrent than 19, but thing is, I treated her like she was my age, and now I find it hard to do so, and I notice all those little quirks, which are cute in somone my age (unusually happy, not too stressed out, Idealistic) are actually an age thing, I mean she has no job to worry about, no car, no real problems... and she's smart enough but I don't know what she's thinking about me being so damn friendly... |

The good thing about younger girls is their innocence (get your mind out of the gutter).
As in they are carefree, nice and just fun to be around.
The girl that I mentioned before, she's so much younger than me, but somehow we ended up working in this group for a school project thing.
And it was really great because everyone would just play around and talk about stupid stuff and just have no worries at all. Do you ever get sick of the intense seriousness of people sometimes?
Almost like a dream.
I say, keep in contact with her. Unless you have another girl lined up...

well... you'r right about the innocence part, I'm just not quite sure what a girl at 13 would think if I asked her how she felt about me, (probably either freak her out or her response will freak me out )
still, she is a lot younger than me, I mean like 2/3rds my age, it's a big diffrence |

Dance.
Or force yourself to laugh.
It really helps, in an escapist kind of way.

I don't think age is as important as maturity.
I know a guy who's 18 (almost 19) and is as mature as a 13year old (y'know the type) and I've met ppl who are 16 but act and think like they were 20somethings.
But yeah, asides from that there are the social pressures. You can bet if you're an adult and you start dating a 14-15yr old, there WILL be comments. Whether you can both (remember, this'll affect her as well) take it is a good question to ask before you take the firts steps.
And I think few 14yr olds nowadays are quite as innocent as we'd like to think.
But hey, what do I know... :|

count, heh I could top that, I once knew a friend who was 25, dating a 15 year old, to say he wasn't socially accepted was.... well the truth |

i sorta know how you feel shahar2k.
but you just got to remember that there are lots of people who go out with one another regardless of age diff.. like there are people who are in there mid 20's who are going out with people who are in there mid 30's... it just doesnt seem like that big of a deal at that age. you cant really see the age differance... but hey, if she seems mature and cool. i dont really see anything to terribly wrong with it.. a date never hurt anyone... not too much anyway |

just because a conversation has started doesn't mean I can't say that I'm down because the world sucks so bad and the only way to escape is to make my own... not an easy task...
Anyway... Feel free to cheer up (if you want to) everyone... the world sucks... but life is too short not to enjoy it... |
