Hi there
A Graphire will suit your needs if you are just starting out....
Have you worked a lot with traditional media before? If you have you might want to get yourself a A5 Wacom Intuos tablet or even an A4.... check out www.wacom.com for lots of info on tablets, then you can work out what will best suit your needs.
The A5 size is my favorite choice!
...And finally, there's lots and lots of tablet related posts on this forum.
USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!

I am frenchman living in Caracas, Venezuela...far, far from anything as cool as the E3 Forums, big Computer Show (like those in L.A, etc)...but I bought a Wacom Intuos 18x12 (Serial because my machine still sux). Believe me...it's AMAZING...I used to draw and paint with a mouse...took hours and I could never make it up to tablet artists. It's not that I can make it better but you won't feel the same and as discouraged if you know what I mean...
Let me put it this way...the tablet is big, very sensitive, takes no time to get used to, has plenty of "amazing shortcuts". In short, it won't disappoint you. Let me put it this way...if you would ever in life have a limb replaced...it would be with an Intuos Pen (would be nice for advertising, ain't it?). The intuos is native to almost any Painting program, PS4,PS5, Painter, etc...
I love it.
