The sound is most likely coming through your pc speaker.
It's happened to me before, but only when my pc has crashed.
Hmmm, reinstall your mouse drivers . . . hmm . . I dunno. Good luck and may the force be with you.

Check better the list of running tasks in the memory. It's possible that certain task takes big CPU load and that's why your mouse produces such dolorous moans... |

The sound is coming out of my speakers not my pc speaker. Yes, I have heard it when my computer crashes but this is ALL the time. Even when I play games and stuff. Any other ideas?
Thanks guys |

Do you have any type of alladvantage programs open (advertisements for $$) for ads...?
Or do you have IE open when it happens, IE makes a click sound whenever you click on a link or push return after typing a new address... |

I think it could be an interrupt problem with your Soundcard and your mouse. Try changing your soundcard's IRQ.
Hope this helps.

Actually I think I remember having that happen to me once (barely remember), I think I just rebooted though and all was well. |

Or it could be just an annoying virus, do a virus scan, and check the "sysedit" to see if anything is being loaded on startup that you don't know about. |

make sure u dont have any mouse-movement loggers or something heh
go to START -> Run, and type 'regedit' (Without the ')
then go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS > CURRENTVERSION > RUN and RUN SERVICE and stuff
most of the stuff that boots wth widnows is kept there, there are also stuff in autoexec.but, start -> program files -> startup and a bunch of other places
hope it helps

Okay I'll walk you through this. I had the same problem. Just follow the following instructions:
1) unplug the mouse from your computer
2) shut down your computer
3) hold the mouse's cord by the plug end
4) take it out side (make sure you have enough space)
5) swing the damn thing around and shadder it into a million pieces
6) get in your car and drive to a local store and buy a new mouse, track ball, or those cool new ones with way too many buttons for any body's own good.
7) if this doesn't work... opps you now have a new mouse!
NOTE: whenever working on your computer make sure it is off, you are grounded, and you don't dust it with a cat!
Glad to be of help... If anyone else needs advice on how to fit your computer I'll help you out!

I guess i found the solution:
you use a Microsoft - Intelli mouse?
I mean MICROSOFT and 'INTELLI' ?
Am I the only one who sees a severe paradoxon here? |

It's not a laser, just a simple red LED which lights the surface to be tracked. Theres a small camera of sorts in the mouse that takes a picture of that surface 1,500 times a second and then the mouse extrapolates the movement of the mouse by the changes in the pictures. It's pretty complex.
I love mine.
As for the mouse problem I have had that before but I always went away once I rebooted. It only happened during a severe crash.
Since I built my own system I havn't had any crashes to speak of though.
That clicking sound shouldn't be coming from your multimedia speakers, it will be coming from the PC speaker as it's a system error noise.
The motherboards saying, "Hey! Theres a problem. Something's not right, Dont do that...and by the way. FIX IT"
--------------------
Try this:
In Win98/95, right click "My Computer", select PROPERTIES.
It will bring up an info tab about your machine. Theres tabs across the top of this window. Select Device Manager.
Find the category labeled MOUSE, and expand it. Select the device, and click remove.
It will ask you to restart, do so.
When the computer reboots, it should detect the mouse and attempt to install the correct drivers. Do that.
Now see if you get the same error.
If you do, then make certain you are using the correct drivers.
Most PS/2 (same connector type as the keyboard) mice can be set up by Win98 easily as they are all pretty much the same thing.
Most can even use generic drivers.

i bet yours would work. ..oh and this guy came to put in a new cd-rw into my comp (i convinced the company that the one i had was defective so they game me an iomege ) Anyways...i asked HIM about the mouse thingy and he sed it was the new speakers i had bought. (they were these creative cambridge soundworks speakers, on subwoofer with two sattelites) so he sed they are shity speakers and that i should get new ones. I said i din't really care and oh well. (because i can't really afford different speakers now anyways, and they aren't on my TOP priority list either. ) oh well go figure, thats what you get for buying without researching...

Did this tech come to your house in the special bus?
I think he must have gone to the School of Computer Maintenance for The Mentally Fucked.
Im a tech for the WA State Legislature, this is not your speakers. There is no reason that the speakers would act up when you move the mouse, NONE. |

BTW, if your gonna get new ones, you can't do much better than the ones I have. [INSERT HUGE BRAGGING SESSION HERE] The Klipsch ProMedia v.2-400's! 400 Watts of big ass THX Certified sound!
4 satellites: sealed elliptical enclosure two way system with a 0.75" polymer dome tweeter mated to a Micro Tractrix Horn.
Midbass driver is 3" long throw with advanced fiber composite cone and urethane surround.
Yes, I did just pull that straight out of the speaker manual.
The subwoofer unit is comprised of 2 6" subwoofers in an MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) enclosure. [END BRAGGING SESSION]
Wow, sorry for the whole bragging thing there, but i'm just so damn proud of my speakers. *sniff*
