I posted a message a few days ago and got some ideas on the background. I took the Jedi council chair and the sunset in the background idea and this is what I came up with. The robe still isn't done so please keep that in mind when you are critiquing me. I still think that there is something missing though. It seems to be lacking some excitement or "fullness" of a completed scene. I guess I am just comparing to Dabih's work....
Thanks in advance.
By the way my name is Vil. (easier than vsihaman)

Could someone also give me some suggestions on how to create a fabric texture on the robe? I was thinking of more of a coarse type of material like burlap... |

yahh make him a little greener.. also doesnt he have green eyes?
star wars is heavy into layers so i'd give him something under the cloak too kinda like this... bear with me i cant draw details hehe but for the texture i'd use something like burlap or similar to that

NICE! you used that idea!
well, why dont you add some movement to the city? if you remeber in the movie there were always lines of traffic and flying things all over the place on Couressant. i think if you add more detail the the city/sunset image there it would put some nice perspective and depth to it.
i agree with the others...he is a little blue. you could change the hue (command+u / control+u) of his face.. that may work...yeah.
i have also found that if you put your signature in a piece early, you end up working around it, and there gets to be a "halo" around your name. Thats not good...youdont want to halo your name. Finish the image, make a new layer, and sign it.
