they only have these a6 format Wacom tablets over here.. so far, I only used these big a4 ones, so I was wondering - aren't the a6'es a BIT too small? some time ago Danny G said the tiny ones are ok, but maybe tiny = a5..

I have an a6 and I'm quite happy with it. But you had better watch out for Molly and that one guy...

personal opinion about the wacom size issue... the smaller the better.

we all know tennis elbow. wacom elbow is worse.

I have a a6 format table and sometimes it feels a little small, but man those a4 tablets were a bit expensive.

Wojsan,

I'd say go for the a5 ones.. Next tablet I'd buy would be of this size.. Not too small, not too big..

I bought my first tablet a while ago.. Wacom Intuos A4... I guess A5 size would've been better choice for me.

I'd say go with the A5 if not sure

hey, thanks guys..

Binke: ALWAYS!

DannyGod, Nisse, Iska: I visited ~10 comp shops today and only ONE *HAD* a Wacom.. they don't have them anymore. That sucks. They said they might start selling them, but it looks like they're only interested in A6'es. Fools! They thought the name is "Viacom" In the other shop they said they've been waiting for some other brand tablets (Pentagram or something) for 7 months now.. I guess it's all my bad luck and I'm stuck with mouse.

Iska btw, did you remove the old pics from your page? I visited it lately and the 'older' stuff was gone (I think), is it anywhere to be found around ?

I wonder how PauliSaffron's exams went..

I`ve got A5 I`ve used as big as A3, seen A2(got really scared) and as small as A6 which are mousepadsized and cute.

If you can afford the A5 thats perfect!!! It`s cute and most of the artist as Funcom uses that size...and those who have bigger ones would envy our A5`s... Also most of the the ones with big ones.. use a A5 sized region anyway;-)
If I could not have the A5..I would go down rather than up...too friggin big and expensive.

As for overall size...the A5 is slightly bigger than a sheet of A4 paper and has a A5 drwaing area to get the idea of the desk space it takes..an A4 is big and A3 friggin hug, overall size about the size of an A2 paper.

GET AN A5 WACOM INTEOUS!

sunreal, Sorry to hear the situation you have about wacom's there hmm were you from poland or am I mistaking?... I just checked the site where I bought mine (www.verkkokauppa.com) and they say they deliver wacom's in 2 to 3 days. (and they did keep that promise with my wacom..) Intuos A5 size usb model is priced at about 437 euro's at the moment (2600 finnish marks) I guess they only serve finnish customers..

The "gal-e" gallery is online, but if you mean those *really* old graphics, I guess they exist only on some cd at the moment
I'm currently trying to increase my drawing skills, because I've noticed that it's a must for doing almost anything... I was quite ok at drawing like 10 years ago, but I then moved to 3D stuff mostly (and later boozing he-he) so i'm very rusty at the moment.. And I got a bit bored doing that weird-fancy-photoshop-scheit

hey

vebjorn : huge thanks.. today I actually heard the same story from my friend: he said the gfx artists at his company also set working region to a5 I will indeed try to find Intuos A5 now. The thing is, as I said, they only had Graphire A6 :|
P.S. your stuff on your homepage is amazing!

Arild : hoi I don't have a5 .. I don't have ANY tablet ! awwww

Iska : Poland indeed. Land of bad internet connections and lack of Wacom's hehe
I wish I bought Wacom when I was in Finland. I still had some money left and should've thought about buying a tablet, but I didn'

Woj,

get yourself a proper Credit Card and find a good online store that sells Wacom's.. Much more choice than when having to search the streets of Wroclaw..

Good luck mate!

Danny

Danny, if having a card was THE problem... I use VISA to get books - no prob here. But when you want to order HW, things get complicated. The two magic words : "customs office". I'll give you an example here. Three or so years ago, nice people that make PowerVR's sent me their card + some CD's. For free. That was when acceleration cards were something I couldn't afford - they were insanely expensive and I didn't have a job. So, these nice people, after watching some of my demos, decided to send me a card for free. And then, even nicer people at the customs made me pay for it about 150% of the market value You can guess if I was p*ssed This is exactly why I can't order any hardware abroad.. I'd pay around 200-300% of the price, and I don't really need the tablet as much as that.

hey btw, how's life ? been doing anything cool lately?
