Fallen, you work very clean
and that's something i like with
you're work, but i think your recent work has lost some charm somehow. Maybe cause you're doing the same thing over and over. I really liked your Manga chicks better. But again that's just my opininon and i hope i don't offend you in any way by saying this

Ahahaha, Synj, I couldn't have said that any better. And I too wouldn't mind seeing something from Fallen without a photo, just curious to see what it would look like ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/wink.gif) |

it looks as if you drew this in 4 distinct layers...
just curious how far am i off?
the hair on the head, the eyebrow, the face, and the background appear to be slightly seperated,.
just as all your art this is great |

* me thinks a war may explode between micke and fallen *
Yeah, I noticed the same, B, they looked a bit separated to me as well when I first looked at it.
Really cool pic, fallen. Keep it up.

Hmmm...she was just sitting there?
Well I like this piece as well, for it's pure technical approach. But, I feel it's really lacking some movement. Also the eyelid farthest from us seems to protrude too far out into space. By removing that, or diminishing it's size, it would feel more natural. But..like I said, technically it's strong. |

I like the softness of the eye, the eye brow, and area right above the eyelid and corner of the eye are my favorite parts of the picture, i see what you mean by drawing every strand of hair makes it look the best heh. sort of a serene picture despite it being red, which is hard to pull off. methinks i need a model like this... oh yah, and do more comic booky chicks, just cause they rock!

try to understand me, it looks GOOD but it doesnt LOOK good..
the drawing itself is great, however, (in my opinion), her pretty hair is a large contrast to the otherwise butch face..
if youre going for that peasant-type look then you hit the nail on the head, however, her face in the lower regions seem to droop and sag, and are very big, while her eyes are very nice and feminine. if you cover up everything beneath the eyes, she looks mysterious... try to capture that feeling in the entire picture. |

I hate myself.
Well...Not really...But I hate not being able to master a medium in the way you have, Fallen...I espescially enjoy your work because of your incredibly precise style...Every single edge and feature is rendered in such clarity, it's amazing... I like the b/g by the way.

Rant alert - I don't think that every single model/subject of a piece of art needs to be the 20th/21st-century-western-industrialized-society-ideal-physical-type-caucasian-female. It really kind of annoys me to hear criticisms like "she doesn't really look feminine enough because of (insert reason here)." Most women don't in fact look like magazine models or comic book characters. So what if the model in your life drawing class is not someone you immediately want to hop into bed with? It can actually be a pretty good drawing exercise to try to capture the essence of someone who is (say) 65, weighs 280 pounds and has bad skin. Sure, your drawing may not appeal to the 28 year old nerds who have never been on a date, but that's life. There are all kinds of people in the world, hot and not so hot - I think it would be nice to do art without it having to be some sort of beauty pageant.
This doesn't even really have to do with the model in Fallen's painting, who isn't really as homely as some of you are making her out to be. And also, I have nothing against drawing attractive/ideal people at all - hell, I do it myself all the time. I just think we ought to open our minds a little bit.
Rant over.
Thanks for your time.
