I personally spend really much time (up to 12 hours a day) sitting like a creature that is connected to the computer. Of course, I make breaks to have a dinner and for other needs (!) I'm doing that because my hobbies (mostly related with computers) became my job - I've been caught into a trap.

I'm just wondering how much time per day people here waste to do their jobs/hobbies. I mean the time when you're sitting opposite to your computer. Also I'd like to know the reason why are you doing that if it takes much time.

Or if you have had the same situation before when your hobbies (what ever else) became your job then give me your advice how can I avoid wasting such a long time with computers. Damn, I like that damned computers :|

That is just a few paragraphs from our magazine's how-tos...

Work as substitute for personal life
You immerse yourself in work to an extent that it becomes your entire life, depending on it to the point where you have abnormally intense physical and mental responses to problems at work. It could be a form of escape or a sign that youre simply a workaholic. Whatever the case, its important to have more down time.

Work/life imbalance
Maybe its time or personal life-management issues. Perhaps your job doesnt suit your preferred lifestyle or you need to eliminate unnecessary burden. Start reassessing and prioritizing your personal and professional goals.

I work only about 32-35 hours a week...pay for college and pay for rent, etc. I barely make it, BUT I don't really wanna work 50 hours a week to just be 200-300 dollars over every month, it isn't worth it to me.

Hell, if I had it my way I would just do web programming and play games for thos 35 hours a week and rest of the time ride bikes, sleep long , and play football and basketball all day.

But society has placed us into a situation to make us work to live on the land, and have the protection we need to survive, so I guess we have to pay for that

I have a class that is from 8 am - 11:30 in which all I do in commercial art... both computer and by hand. Then I spend time designing graphics for personally intrests. Like right now I'm designing the t-shirt for my high school's baseball team... it looks sweet. I really don't know how much time I spend in front of the computer. I use to spend all day, but not anymore. I'd say about 7 - 8 hours a day that includs homework, commercial art, designing stuff for people and my own time.
