Hi!

I'm a new guy here and would like
to thank "Fred" and Francis for
all their help and for turning me
on to this forum! The interaction
that I have observed and the
things I have learned are invaluable.
I am sure this is only the
beginning!

All critiques on this pic are welcome.
I am also taking part in "Fred's"
extremely awesome tutorial, and have
put up my first attempts on that
thread. Thanks!

Hi Craig! I like your picture. The woman's pose is very dynamic. The background's kinda' throwing it off, though. Maybe it's the lighting, I'm not sure, but right now it's looking like one of those M.C. Escher drawings. Can't wait to see more.

Oh, and is she nekkid?

Sedone,

Hi, thanks! Yeah, the lighting was
a struggle and the background is
wierd, I meant for the hallway to
have ventilation shafts (or something)
to her right.....it didn't quite come
out the way I hoped :-0.

Alas, she is not naked beneath the armor,
but the color of her suit came out
almost flesh like when digitized.....
Perhaps it was a graphical "Freudian slip"
on my part....nyuknyuknyuk. Thanks!

Hi Craig, welcome! Thats a very cool pic man, love the design of the suit, kinda reminds me of the judges a little, a 2000ad fan??

The body seems kind of disjointed tho, like the top should be more to the left maybe....or bottom right, whichever u prefer

Nice work!

This is a pretty good drawing. I'd only say try to be more definite with the background and more bold with the light/shadows.

Let's see more soon!

Hi Craig and welcome.

I like your drawing ! Especially the girls pose and balance. It also really looks like her feets are planted to a ground, very nice.

What I think could be imrpoved, is the contrasts and also sharpen up some of the shadows on the background...maybe even make a bit more "cinematic" lightsetting, to get some more "actionfeeling" to it. Hmm, very abstract words I said there, but I hope you understand what I mean

Also, it could be nice to detail the character a bit more. Heavier shadows, more tags, lines and details, etc..., to make her stand out more from the background.

I think you could easily add things like this to the picture withouth sketching it up again.

Great image anyway, it has lotsa potential !

Hi craig! Welcome to the forum.
That's a great pic. The suit kinda reminds me of those anime characters, are you a fan?......If I was to say anyting about it,
I reckon maybe make the shadow on the wall, (far right) a bit darker, to bring the character out more.Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Kyri

All,

Thank you for your critiques, I will
get to work....I think I will let this
one go and incorporate your suggestions
for the next thing I post. Much
appreciated!

Cos, I am not familiar with 2000AD...
do you refer to Judge Dred stuff?
If so, I agree the face mask had
some influence there, but if not,
please educate me!

Kyri, Yes, I am into anime/manga and
am heavily influenced there....I
really dig the tech/mecha stuff!
