It's been a while since I posted some art here... Here's a digital portrait of our lovely lady Natalie Portman. I chose to do a black and white pic to practice my brushing skills (yes, the image is 100% paintbrush, hence the non-photorealistic look). Maybe I'll retouch it with the Airbrush when I have some more time on my hands. Hope you like it...

Also, I just finished my Natalie Portman Messageboard. If you're a fan, hop over to http://www.natalierules.com/ and register yourself. The site wil officially open on the 9th of June (her birthday). Good luck!

beautiful work natalie portman seems to be everyone's favourite portrait subject.

can't critique much, too good. Try to lower your drawing abilities so I can find something to critique

Sorry about the non-photorealistic thing, I actually meant to say that I could have made it look more real (smooth) if I used the airbrush and/or dodge & burn tools

fantastic picture as usual oscar i love your work, the only thing i can pick out that is a little wrong ( and is only noticable on the full res image.) Is that her actual eye balls seem to melt into her lower eye lids and there seems as if there is no real definition between them. As usual im just nitpicking

As i said fantastic work!

Thanks for the replies people!

Moose:
I know This was my first attempt at portrait drawing and I had no idea the hair would be that difficult to put down... I tried the 'single stroke strands' but the hair was too dense and would end up looking like one gray blob I'll try to fix this problem in my next Natalie Portman portrait

Above:
That too I know

damn.

the only thing i have to say is that her hairbotherd me a bit on the full res image...i think it was the fact that each strand had its own outline.....it makes each strand look thick and not "panteen fresh" (haha). her hair looks clumped and oily. I think a free flowing hair would much better suit the pic. It looks great small though, but i think if it was to be larger the hair needs a little work.

Shit dude, your painting of her looks better than that photo.

Damn nice work Oscar! I dig it!

Yea, seems a lot of people are painting here lately. I did a painting of her also a while back.
If you want to check it out go here.
http://www.planetshane.com/Paintings/Amidala.htm

I did it in Painter5 with the airbrush.

BTW, how the hell do you post a pic in the forum? I would have posted a thumb of it.

Very nice Oscar, the small one looks very photo realistic.

I checked out your web site and message board. You seem to have a few Portman fans on there with quite an attitude.

Did you say that you created that message board from scratch and that it isn't using UBB?
