Yeah I know it's all been done, but it still makes money so... here's a tech cover I did. Any opinions/suggestions? It's a pretty simple piece, but then again, I'm a pretty simple guy... (where have I heard that before?)

I really like the dot pattern you have, and very nice colors. If this is to be used for a CD cover (not sure...but you called it a cover) I would make the type a bit more legible. Also, you should perhaps take away the noticable photoshop lighting effects spotlight effect, it takes away from it all, and you could recreate that lighting to bring out the colors in another fashion, such as the color dodge mode, or dodge tool.
Thats pretty much all I have to say about it. The rest looks clean, and I like how it's a bit off center, that works a lot.
Hope that made sense

Oi,
Spotlights... ahem...
The more important thing is, text is not legible enough, if it's for a cover it shuold stick out from far away (if it's going to be printed 'contrast' shuold be even higher, a very quick glance (I emphasize *very quick*) reveals to me that some of the colors are out of gamut if it's going to be printed.
"Mind over matter" usually implicates some arcane knowledge while technology does opposite, but the trendy dots give me the impression you're going after a neo look - do consider a "techno" font for technology... (techno - not a name, but any font that implies neo look all by itself, a bit rounder, a bit wider, or the A version OCR could do but round it a little at least Give it several tries, stick with what feels "juuuuuuuuuuuust right"
Fare thee well,

Ta for the comments guys...
It's for a magazine cover sorta thing. The text is just for background... there is gonna be bold text over the top later.
The lighting well... yeah... not sure what to do about that.
Mind of matter is kinda to contrast technology eg point out that it is the people behind the computer doing to work... not the computer... kind of in retort to ppl saying that techno music is just generated by computers. It's the mind behind the computer.
Yeah...
