Wee.
I should be studying for the exam I'm having tomorrow, but felt like painting instead :].
I used one of my dad's photos as reference, but got bored after I finished the heads of the birds. Not much interesting details in the rest of the photo so I just slammed it together. Took ~2 hours. Would post the photo too but it's way too big to fit the scanner.
Also included a gif anim of the making of the heads.
Hope you enjoy the pics, they cost me an exam :)

That's solid, Gecko. Sorry they cost you an exam...But nicely done; I really like the way you started out with blotches, and then moved to finer lines...Now I have to go draw something because I feel like a slacker =|

uhh it's 5 AM, have to leave to school at 7.
120 more pages to read (human biology).
Maybe I can still make it .. gotta... concentrate.. zzz
zz Normally (or before) I would've made the birds one by one, but instead I wanted to try out making all of them phase by phase.
Turned out so efficient I'm gonna use it from now on!
Brush sizes were, if I recall, 12 px, 7 px, 4 px, 2 px and then finally size 1 for those individual feathers.
And now that I think of it, why on earth did I post that big pic when the only significant info is on the animation.
Oh well, back to reading books.
