Well ill just cut and paste the description off my site and add some more after it.
-::AKUMA:: [23/5/2k]
Ok finally completed something.
The following sketch isn't mine, I just found it on a site and decided to have a go at colouring it. At the time I was in a Street Fighter obbsessive mode, due to playing lots of SFZero.
So Here's my attempt at colouring this awsome Akuma sketch.
I just used Photoshop 5.5 and Dodge/Burn tools to make this and a little bit of airbrush dodge for the lighting on right side.
I think it turned out ok, so I'll prolly color something else soon. -
Yes i will probably get flamed etc caus its pretty crap. but i already know how much i suck. i just posted this for some strange reason.
*shrug*
*sigh*

I hope you don't mind me putting in my 2c. I see how much you refer to yourself as ( I suck). well I don't think you do. But weather I think you suck or are great is not of any importance in your life. However the fact that you think it, is of parimont importance to you. Why?? Simply; your sub- counsious mind doesn't juge the realitive truth of your statment . It only put's into action what you tell it . if you tell it I suck then you will!! and that will re-enforce your opinion of your self leading to more of the telling yourself I SUCK. see the vicous circle here. Also don't depend on others feed back for feeling good about yourself because if you do that then the oposit will also be true. If you get harsh feed back rather than learnong from it you will simply say I suck and leave it at that.
well enough of the phycology here. dude stop being your own worst enemy don't try to be better than someone eles try being better than your self this is the important thing. if you see someone elses art and think it is better then great cool what can you learn from it ? BTW we all need improvement for the one who says I need not improve will not because he willed it that way ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

Dude, that doesn't suck at all. And trust me, there's some really sucky stuff out there. This isn't it, though.
First off, you understand enough to take the sketch, put it into the program, color it, shade it, dodge/burn it, where to place highlights, shadows, etc. That right there says that you're more knowledgeable and have more skill than the average Joe Blow walking down the street. Don't be so hard on yourself. Try being more confident. None of my friends could do what you put up (okay one, but he doesn't count).
Now, onto the more technical aspects. In my personal opinion (some people might dispute this), it doesn't matter how "good" of an artist you are, as long as the picture is interesting to look at. In other words, you want to look at it for more than a couple of seconds because there is something that draws your eyes to it (unless it's just plain ugly and you can't stop looking at it, kinda like a car accident). This does the job for me. I think it's cool.
I'd suggest adding a bit more contrast between the shadows and lighter areas. The necklace looks good, and so does the back and legs. The face doesn't have much contrast, though. No biggie, that doesn't take very long to fix. Also, I'd suggest cleaning up the areas where the colors bleed over the lines (ie: the right foot, left hand, etc). Just a polishing idea.
But these are the only things that should be fixed. They aren't really even problems. I can definitely tell that you're an artist.
Good job. Every day that passes, you get better as long as you keep trying!!! Nice work, AcidDrone.
