I know this is a random musings thing but I would like some input quickly.
Is there anyone here using a Duron or T-Bird CPU? Im not concerned with the classic athlons
Im considering upgrading to one of these as soon as Friday. What interests me was of course the 200Mhz bus that I know Photoshop likes and naturally its price.
If anyone here uses one and deals with LARGE files sizes I would appreciate any input.
Oh, Im upgrading from an old 466 Celeron that CANNOT keep up. And yes I know DDR chipsets are arriving but I only have a $500 budget and would like to save some of that..
Thanks

I recently acquired an Athlon Tbird 900mhz on a Socket-A 200mhz motherboard and it runs superswiftysmooth. The only thing that kinda dissapointed me was the fact my 17" monitor's refresh rate (linked to a TnT2 Ultra 32mb) can't keep up with the CPU and slows my framerates in games down. ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/frown.gif) |

Yeah, I have a 1 Ghz Thunderbird, and photoshop/3D studio max/ etc. loves it. What really makes Photoshop fly though is 256 megs of RAM. Spend most of your money on RAM, not processor speed. |
