I checked out "ancient throne" and "In eternity". Not too bad. How long have they been around? Their singer needs singing lessons though. His voice is nice but he just doesnt seem to hold a tune. And where is the double-bass? |

The other 2 are in too. Let me rephrase myself : they need a new drummer. Just dum-dum-tak wont do it if you play deathmetal. We want blastbeats! 280bpm! |

i listened to some of them now..
What is quite apparent that the MIXDOWN of the songs is not very well done.
I listened to this stuff with good headphones and there are clearly some holes in the sound spectrum (exactly: 160 Hz about -15db, 6k and 15k about -5db). This would be pretty easy to fix and its a BIG difference.
I don't like the sound of the bassdrum too, sounds somehow weak.. not as powerful as it should sound.
But all in all the stuff is quite okay, not my beer but okay.

hehe...ok
i think they have been around for about two years. there really isnt much of a scene for death metal where i live (its pathetic vader came to play a couple years ago and less than 30 people showed up), so finding people who can do blast beats is extremely rare. they also recorded their own stuff, i will mention to them about the issues with holes in the sound spectrum. last time i saw them play the drummer had started using triggers, maybe that will help a bit. i dont think their voices are all that great either, i have and will again tell them to try and work on it. their egos are pretty inflated, so im not sure if they will ever take my criticism seriously.
thanks a lot for all the constructive criticism, im writting a review for and i needed some unbiased opinions.
do you know how bad it sucks to be an american? when i went to see in flames last year not more than 75 kids showed up (and thats pushing it...). when i saw mayhem maybe a 100 people. every metal show i go to, there are the weakest crowds. when i saw the crown, krisiun, and nile the theater they played in was almost empty. every year more and more bands decide not to bother playing here...it makes me sick.

Heh. Move to the Netherlands. We must have relatively the biggest metal scene ever. Not to mention all HC kids here love metal as well... |

Come to think of it.... why is it that theres not much of a deathmetal scene in the states? i mean there used to be the Florida Scene that spawned Supreme Overlords like Cannibal Corpse & the likes. Not to mention there's a huge grindcore scene as well so that should cross over easily. And then there's all the deathmetal-influenced Hardcore bands like azazel, aftershock, fault, luddite|clone, fate of icarus, etc. |

Good question. There used to be a huge one, as you said, but it seems to have gone into hiding recently. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, there is a huge grindcore scene. We've got Spazz, Plutocracy, and some others, but it's just not what it was during the early 90s. Then again, huge by grindcore standards is pretty small to everyone else's.

Britney Spears is deathmetal.
Seriously.
Actually, I think it was friggin' electronica and Industrial Homogeny that oppressed the rise of deathmetal/grind.
Though some of us American elitist computer snobs enjoy the whimsical thrashings of FLA, though I doubt that's true deathmetal.
