My little brother started this as an experiment in
adobe photoshop. I modified it some, and came up with this. Resembles the original piece very little.
Greets to my little brother if he is watching..
Oh yeah, hey, please report tell me if you see any near-black blotches on the image. Thank you.

Klaivu: The skin texture under the eyes is especially cool. =) And no, with my monitor/gamma setting, I don't see any black spots.
cheers.

This one is giving me nightmares! Well done klaivu! Real cool texturing. And I expecially like the black tears.

See, kids, just another example of what happens when you don't wear a helmet when you ride a bike near a construction yard.
*stupid kids these days*
Great pic, klaivu. Really expresses the agony in the face. |

Damn, this pic is hella cool.
I drew something similar a few days ago, only the guys face was melting. I really like the mouth and the eyes. Great piece.
I reminds me of a character in the movie Hellraiser.

klaivu, good pic, very stylish. yes I do see color blotches. I'm on a Mac, and my job dictates that I have a very well calibrated monitor, and blotches are present.
Above the head there is a darker black line within a gray field of color.
Underneath the impaling bar to the right of the head mostly there appears some gray lines that don't look blended.
The lower contour of the face seems a little jaggedy and there is a heavy black line that forms the shadow of the jawbone.
My suggestion is to check your numbers with the color picker or look at each channel individually to find the indifferences.
Hope this helps!!!!! |

WOW, AWESOME. That freakin' rules. The texture on the skin is perfect, and the detail on the mouth... WOW.
If I HAD to critique it, though, I'd suggest two things.
1) Maybe blend the sides of the head into the black background a little more. It looks like it was meant to fade into the background but just didn't get dark enough.
2) The blood on the left, uh... pole (his right, our left) looks a little too solid. I think it would look cooler if it was a little more spattered and streaked, rather than a solid blob.
About the near-black blotches you mentioned, I do see some black streaks above his head, some gray blotches under both poles, and a gray outline-blob all around the bottom of his head. Those gray blobs on the bottom are what made it seem to me that he's not faded into the background enough. |

You seem to like my work for some reason Tinusch
Well anyway, it seems that my monitor isn't capable of telling near-black from black. I'll jiggle with this one if I have time and try to fix it. And maybe fix that pole and the blood on it.
( the voice of self-content : )
Did I mention that I used a mouse ?
( ohh, I am so damn satisfied with myself that it makes me wanna hit myself in the head repeatedly with a heavy brick.. )

I think it was Chris Rock that said "Get your asses into church."
By the way I don't know if you mentioned this yet or not but I know some people have called it horns and other people have said it was a pipe through his head. I am going with the pipe through the head but considering the subject matter I can see why they might think horns.
...Giger esque it is...Keep working hard and I think it is cool you working with your brother like that. I know a few artist that work together. One is good at drawing and the other is good at painting.
...Ah.. nothing like brotherly love coming together to create incredably satanic pictures. Really brings a tear to my eye.
Peace |

The runic inscription on his forehead is interesting, Klaivu. I love encoded elements in artwork. Does it mean something like he's fought the good fight, lost and become caught in shadow, fear, pain, stagnation etc. etc?

Something like : You will lose an important fight, and because of this, something extremely important to you will be destroyed or lost forever.
