Why's that? You need 3rd person to get the maximum fun for driving the Jeeps and Tanks... apparently it's 1st person for when you're on foot... The only bas things I can see is the porting to the X-Box and the changing of the Marine from that fantastic Marathon Look-a-like to that crappy Ground Control Infantry look... the totaly green armour plating looks crap. Not really Bungie... |

It looked REALLY promising at the end of last year/beginning 2000. I haven't followed up at lot since then but I'm eager to see final result.
Oh btw, it reminds me it's kind of thanks to that game I found this forum Halo -> e3 -> Bungie's website -> game designers page -> links to Craig's website -> link to here
Anyway, I wonder what kind of PC it will take to run Halo... eek
I hope the storyline won't be messed up like with Mechwarrior 3 |

The one for E3? Yeah... it was good. It answered alot of questions but raised many more. As I said before... I hope the Marine from the original Apple/Bungie presentation (featured in CGW once I think) comes back. I hate the new green version. It looks great. The music for the E3 video was fantastic too! |

I guess that the plan is by MS that it will be developed first for X-Box then have a PC port, which hopefully won't suck. Last I heard, the only part of the game that was 1st person was sniping and gunner on the jeep; all the rest is in 3rd. The big kicker is how well it will port over to PC since console ports have a tendancy to suck on the PC. If Bungie spends the time like they are known to do to make a quality game, it will port over nicely, but if the MS marketing power pushes them for the fast and money making port, it will be far more questionable. Personally I'd like to see them take the time to take advantage of some of the new techonology like bump mapping, per pixel shading, and large textures with the PC port (new to 3d games at least).
The graphics and technology is very cool (IK engine ), but i'm curious of how the story is shaping up since that's one thing I'm really looking forward to -- yet another title with an actual plot behind run-shoot-open door-shoot. There haven't been enough of those lately.
anyways, I'm done rambling.
