nice sketch!
but somehow these animals really bother me.. are they mutated lion-rats or should they be an animal that really exists on earth?
Note: You almost learn nothing if you draw from a painting (except drawing outlines)..
If you draw from a photo you would have the "realistic" aspect - how it looks in real life. But if you draw from a painting everything is already done.. the composition, the lighting, the shading..
Anyway its your choice -
Do you want to add color to this one?

If I have a photo I don't have to use my own imagination and that kind of stuff then it'll be just copying... and the painting I looked was much more photorealistic.. that unfinished sketch is not copied straightly from painting..
I just saw a painting where was two lions and got the idea from it. so only shapes of the lions are drawn using that painting as a quide to know how lions look like.
maybe it helps you a bit if you try to imagine those "thingies" without those silly shades.. .. they make it look like rats..
