Yep. You allways think it wont happen to _you_ but with me, it did. A hardware crash. Reader dug into my HD and ripped it up nicely. 3 years of collecting fonts & mp3s, 2 months of not-yet-backuped client and personal work. All gone. Not to mention the cost of a new HD... |

OMG dude...I truly do feel sorry for you. My friend just went through the same thing.
My roommate is a big network fan, so we have a novell server in our apartment that backs up our HD (images anyway) every night.
Did you look into a recovery shop to get back you data?
Usually they can go through and grab data bit by bit of what is left and save it to a CD for you. I am not sure on their cost though. |

I thought about that too, but its ridiculously expensive. For that money i could buy an entire new system (which i intend to do, btw).
It just sucks, it still hasnt completely hit me how much's gone. |

Sorry to hear that.. ::sniff::
It's like you just lost a part of you.. or a girlfriend.. so many experiences, flushed down the toilet. You still got memories of all them cool ass fonts, and mp3's tho.. you'll mourn for awhile, its okay to cry.. really. It's gona be, ok, allright?
Oh well, consider it an excuse to buy some nice 40 gig gargantuan hard drive.. I'm personally waiting for a near infinate storage device... mmm... hologram drive perhaps. But that wont be made available to nimble fucks like myself for at least another decade.
