Hi! I just got my USB type Wacom tablet today, and when i plugged it in my USB port, and though it would work but it doesnt. My computer doesnt detect that it have any USB port installed in the machine even though there are 2 slots on my computer....
Any body know how i can tell my comp to detect its USB port? I'm running Windows 98.
My friend said that installing Windows ME would help this problem, is it true?

Bring up the System Info (in control panel or hit ctrl-break). Make sure there are no conflicts, or the USB adapter isn't enabled.
If it isn't there at all, go to the control panel and run "Add New Hardware". If it doesn't detect the USB adapter, make sure the card is firmly seated in the slot, or on the MoBo. Reboot your computer. If the USB adapter is not detected on startup, run "Add New Hardware" again.
If it still doesn't detect, specify it manually.
Reboot again. Bring up the system info again (ctrl-break). Look at the properties for the USB adapter. If it says it needs drivers, go to your adapter Manufacturer's website, and download the latest drivers. If it says there is a conflict, resolve the conflict by disabling unused devices. If everything is working fine, you should be able to plug in your USB device and it will automatically install itself.

Ok, i got the USB port to be enable and i installed the driver. But i got this message in the USB device status "The NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2.)" I searched for help on Google and found out that ALOT ALOT of people have experienced with this problem. |
