heh, i had my first deadline for my texture assignmnet today and i f00ked it up Ari (my ex-roomate, and my new boss) spent an hour teaching me to map objects onto the buildings he made in Max. i was hired on as a game texture artist but since there's no work yet required for that, and since the Sci-Fi channel portion of the project is in full swing they're having me texture their scenes...im telling u, texturing low poly buildings isnt hard but TEDIOUS! i HATE THE MATERIAL EDITOR!

Are tehre any other texture artsists who hang out here? can anyone else relate to my sad sorrow? (heehe i know, hella mellow drauma from the PaK) i'd like to get to talking with some texture people...

here's my details, contact me:

I do tons of texture work and it's probably my least favorite thing to do. Especially in Max. At least 3.0's unwrap is good. Texturing got a lot easier once I started using Maya. Definitely the easiest and most intuitive mapping tools around IMO. Anyway I feel your pain man. If only I could just be a modeler or an animator I would be happy. Oh well keep on it man, you'll get into the groove eventually.

Hello Pak-Rat-Tat-tat =)

Ohh they joy and pain of making games. Did your Boss show you how to UNWAP textuer?

I also am TRYING to make a game, But we are not using 3D in the game, we are using 2D PCX files (saving each Aniamtion Frame, 5frames to a animation not bad)

If you neeed to use small Textuer maps like 225x225 or what not, then Make your self a BIG image and then Shrink it.

About the only help I can give.

Ohh and dont spend too much time on little things like Rock textuer =) hehe Just Gray with Dots will do.
